Happy New Year – let Janathon begin:-)

Wonderful morning, and really great day for a run. Having just moved house not sure of the distances or terrain involved to get onto my favourite routes….but did a nice 8 or so miles – took an hour and twenty, with a killer hill to finish.Scrambled eggs on toast as a reward. Cooked by my resident slave Stuart.Heading to the pub to watch Glasgow v Edinburgh rugby this afternoon.Easing my way gently into the new year…

Day 11 Done and dusted

It was pretty much a washout today, so I paid a visit to the gym and did some intervals, kettlebells and had a blast. Stopped off at a really great coffee shop on the walk home, just to refuel, you understand. Headed north in the afternoon to visit my mum and dad, and as I was alone in the car, sang all the way there, and all the way back. Awesome. Well, the singing was pants, but I had a shit kicking grin on my face all the way….

I did a twofor and didn’t mean it

Back in Edinburgh today. Was up nice and early for a run on these darned hills, and it was nice and sunny, so I really enjoyed it. Nice change from three days in the gym. Then it was back to the flat for a quick shower and change, then my brown paper and seven different coloured post its (tools of the trade, can’t leave home without them!) and I made a mad dash/jog/sprint/hobble to pick up a hire car. They don’t open til 8. I had a meeting in Fife at 9…. and they will not be winning any customer service awards any time soon. Who knew it would take 20 minutes to pick up a car? Grrrr. So I hit the road in the middle of school run mayhem. But that jaloppy can shift, and i made it with a minute to spare. Happy days :

Who cares who Ryan Giggs is shagging?

It’s a genuine, serious question. I am going to add to the millions of column inches devoted to this subject and say that i genuinely have not met a single person who gives a flying fig. Can we give it a rest, already. My only comment on the matter is that, similar to the Tiger Woods debacle, I am only saddened that such a talent will be remembered for this, and not his brilliance on the park. Can I please, from the bottom of my heart, request that any more wannabe wags who have  more shag fest stories to sell, just keep it to yourself. WE DONT CARE.

Eek, three days in a row. Does that make me a gym bunny?

I am starting to worry just a bit. For third day in a row I have hit the gym, trained hard, and got home again before 7.30…. Am I caught in a rut? Have I turned into a gym bunny ? Gawd I hope not.. Before you know it you’ll see me reading heat magazine on the recumbant bike whilst filing my nails, and I may have to shoot myself. That’s it. Run tomorrow. No excuses.

Two days worth in one blog post….honest!

Goodness me the last couple of days have been hectic. I have managed two gym training sessions in a row for days 7 and 8, getting up with the lark, in out and done by 7.30 am.  Just as well cos work is so full on I am wasted by the time I get home. No time to blog yesterday so a joint effort will have to do.. Back to clear my emails, sort out my diary and pack for my trip back up to Scotland before I can veg out for the night. Roll on the weekend.

 

 

Juneathon Day 6 – running up that hill, again

Dear me, Edinburgh is hilly. I have discovered that it doesn’t matter which way you run, the buggers will get you! The run this morning was a short one as I found it very difficult to extract myself from the warm comfort of my duvet. The alarm came far to early for me today.

So some stats:

Distance: 4.02 km; Time 26.19 mins; Day 6 mood: knackered :O

Sunday means gym day this week

Day 5 was remarkably similar exercise wise to day 4. Hit the gym again and spent quite a nice 90 minutes or so avoiding the crap weather outside and watching Rafa trouncing the Swiss Fed. Hurray :

Saturday snooze

Today was not as sunny as yesterday with a bit of a cool wind blowing here in Edinburgh…… but it didn’t really matter as I had a very long lie in, surfacing just before midday for a trip to the caff for brekkie then shopping.

But i did hit the gym this evening intervals, kettlebells and trx in the mix. Day  4 lazily sorted.
